Chillin' with my daughter!

I am so thankful I have a good relationship with my youngest daughter. We enjoy watching television shows together, hang out at the library and I home school her as well. I do worry, at times though, if my daughter will ever want to become a social butterfly. She stays at home a lot and does not converse with many people her own age. I now wonder if I have jeopardized her in anyway whatsoever by home schooling her. Anyone else ever home schooled a child? Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to get her to socialize more and if so, where should she go?

Are you a member of a home school association? I didn't home school my kids but my neighbor did. Their association had lots of social interactions along with elective "classes" such as athletics, band, and choir.

My daughter is taking theatre and enjoys conversing with friends there but most live in OKC and we of course live in Edmond. Thanks for your input.

I asked a girl at work who was homeschooled to get her opinion. She mentioned that their are Co-op groups? I guess this just sort of allows you to do the same events as the school, and she just said that she was really big into church and made her friends there.

I thought your post was interesting, because I really hadn't thought about any of that before. My other friend from college was homeschooled, but he kept busy with extracirricular sports.

Good luck to your daughter to find those extra things!
